In December of 2010 I decided to treat myself to a new computer for Christmas.  My laptop at the time (a different brand) had been with me since 2005 and I needed to upgrade.  I did my research and found a great computer (or so I thought) at a reasonable price of $699.99 through Amazon.  There was even a $75 rebate offer.  Score!  I settled on the Asus U35JC-XA1 because of its combination of battery life, compact size, processor speed and hard drive capacity.
I received my order right before Christmas and was pleasantly surprised at the laptop's speed and ease of use.  I diligently filled out my rebate forms and sent them out two weeks later.  I made sure to make copies of everything and I even sent everything out USPS Certified Mail (tracking number 70101870000358052656).  You can see that my paperwork was received by going here and entering the tracking number.  I've included pics of all of my paperwork below.  I've redacted my personal info but I'd be happy to provide that to a representative of Asus.  The Asus website, https://asus.4myrebate.com/Claim/TrackaRebate, was updated to reflect that my paperwork was received, processed and my rebate of $75 was granted.  For some reason, as of 7/8/12, the website no longer shows that information.  When I called months later to inquire as to the status of the rebate, I was told that it was already sent, and that I should receive it soon.  It slipped my mind until some time later and I called again.  I was given the runaround and I decided it wasn't worth the hassle.

Next, I'll be detailing all the problems I've had with my Asus laptop.
