I would like a representative of Asus to contact me so that we can work together to rectify this disappointing experience I've had with an Asus product.

My power supply has failed.  The green light on it still works but it doesn't send any charge to my Asus laptop.  So basically I now have a $700 paperweight.
A portion of the plastic surrounding one of the hinges has failed and as a result, over time, the frame surrounding and holding my screen in place is falling apart.  I can't open or close my Asus laptop without hearing a crunching sound, and the laptop doesn't close properly at all.

After a year the center of the touchpad has worn away.  The worn area no longer works as well as the rest of the touchpad.

I have had problems with my graphics card since day one.  I've updated all my drivers but I continue to get video hardware errors.  Sometimes when I turn on my Asus laptop, everything starts normally, I input my login info, hit enter, Windows starts to load, and then the screen turns black.  The only thing I can do is turn off the computer and try again.  Terribly frustrating.

My Asus U35JC-XA1 runs exceedingly hot and as a result paint has peeled from a portion of the underside of the laptop.  So hot that paint peels and flakes off?  Seriously?  That can't be safe.

In December of 2010 I decided to treat myself to a new computer for Christmas.  My laptop at the time (a different brand) had been with me since 2005 and I needed to upgrade.  I did my research and found a great computer (or so I thought) at a reasonable price of $699.99 through Amazon.  There was even a $75 rebate offer.  Score!  I settled on the Asus U35JC-XA1 because of its combination of battery life, compact size, processor speed and hard drive capacity.
I received my order right before Christmas and was pleasantly surprised at the laptop's speed and ease of use.  I diligently filled out my rebate forms and sent them out two weeks later.  I made sure to make copies of everything and I even sent everything out USPS Certified Mail (tracking number 70101870000358052656).  You can see that my paperwork was received by going here and entering the tracking number.  I've included pics of all of my paperwork below.  I've redacted my personal info but I'd be happy to provide that to a representative of Asus.  The Asus website, https://asus.4myrebate.com/Claim/TrackaRebate, was updated to reflect that my paperwork was received, processed and my rebate of $75 was granted.  For some reason, as of 7/8/12, the website no longer shows that information.  When I called months later to inquire as to the status of the rebate, I was told that it was already sent, and that I should receive it soon.  It slipped my mind until some time later and I called again.  I was given the runaround and I decided it wasn't worth the hassle.

Next, I'll be detailing all the problems I've had with my Asus laptop.
